The theft happened April 29, less than 2 weeks before Mother's Day.

EUGENE, Ore. - Less than 2 weeks before Mother's Day, a man walked up to a coffee shop on Barger Drive and started yanking on a hanging flower basket.

Another man walked up and helped the other pull down the basket of flowers.

The thief then walked right in front of a security camera with the flowers clutched in his arms.

"We would love to get our baskets back and have some justice," said Merson Romano of Romano's Coffee Shop.

It's not going to happen again: the fixture has been reinforced, Romano said.

"There's not going to be any way they can pull them off the wall now," Romano said.

It's happened before: In 2012, surveillance footage filmed a man in a pickup truck pulling up to the coffee shop, opening his truck door and grabbing some flowers.
