EUGENE, Ore. -- August is just around the corner, but the Willamette Valley has had relatively mild weather the entire month of July. Recently, mornings filled with clouds burn off in the late afternoon.

And sometimes in the late, late, late afternoon.

At Amazon Pool, parents and their children were having fun in the water - especially after the sun finally fought through the clouds.

"We Oregonians wait all gray season long for our three months of sunshine and in the morning when you don't wake up to sun, I have to say it's a little dissapointing," said Theodora Turk.

Albert Wilkowski of Eugene said he was at Amazon Pool last year with his son and the pool was much more crowded. "We'd get here at 11:30 and it would be really hot, near 90. Everyone would be lining up, trying to shade while the kids swam."

"We lived in Eugene for 30 years and this is probably one of the coolest summers I've seen," said Wilkowski.

Some kids in the pool were enjoying the weather today. "It was really sunny when we arrived, but it turned back to cloudy," said Alex Cox. "I think if it turned back to sunny it would be way be way better."
