SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Families gathered to enjoy a day filled with Easter egg hunting at the annual Megga Hunt in Lively Park

“This is the first time we came out here, and we had a whole bunch of fun,” said Alyssa Plunkett, a community member.

Participants lined up for the Easter egg hunts. There were hunts for each age group: crawler hunts, walker hunts, three-year-old hunts and hunts for four and five year olds.

“This is a loved community event by everyone here in Springfield,” said Kim Lyddane, Special Events Coordinator.

Participants also had the opportunity to get crafty at the arts and crafts stations, get their face painted, and ride the Willamalane train.

Over 70 volunteers helped during the event. Lyddane said, “Without community support, this event would not happen.”

The Easter Bunny was out roaming the fields, greeting participants and their families.

“We just want everyone to come out here and have a good time and celebrate spring,” Lyddane said.
