Freezing rain left much of the Eugene/Springfield area under a thick glaze of ice, prompting many events and religious services to cancel their Sunday plans. This list is still developing, so it might be a good idea to call before venturing out to any Sunday event.
Here’s a list of events that have announced cancellations on Sunday, Feb. 9:
The 33rd annual Truffle Shuffle was postponed until Sunday, Feb. 16
Officials are postponing the Cupid’s Cowboy Challenge Rodeo in Albany, as well as the 2014 Block Kids Competition at Valley River Center.
Polar plunges in Eugene, Corvallis and Portland will also be rescheduled.
All pools and recreational centers are closed through the weekend.
The Emerald Valley Indoor BMX meet at the Lane Events Center was canceled.
The Eugene YMCA has called off weekend programs, and the entire Kidsport weekend schedule is suspended.
Lane Transit District: No changes to current detours-
Route 24 service ends at Amazon Station with no shuttle service.
Route 28 will not serve Martin. Service ends at Snell.
Routes 41 & 43 will not run on 8th and will run on 6th and 7th instead.
EmX is on a regular routing with the only alternative stop being Hilyard Station
