Woman accused of stealing $55K from employer, senior party fund

EUGENE, Ore. - A Springfield woman faces accusations she stole over $55,000 from the RV dealership where she worked in Eugene and an unknown amount from the senior party fund for Thurston High School Class of 2010.

The Eugene Police Department arrested Sammantha Louise Perryman, 38, of Springfield at 11:30 a.m. Thursday on charges of Aggravated Theft in the First Degree, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and Aggravated Identity Theft.

Police said an investigation found that Perryman, who worked as an accountant for George Sutton RV, made purchases with the company's credit card totaling $55,000.

Police were notified by George Sutton RV when one of the owners noticed several unauthorized transaction on the company's credit card statement.

Perryman had been employed at the dealership since May 4, 2010. Subsequently the dealership confronted Perryman regarding an initial loss of $4,000. An audit revealed total losses to be more than $55,000, police said.

Springfield Police Department added a charge of Theft in the Second Degree stemming from a Springfield case in which funds were stolen from the Thurston High School Senior All Night Party Fund in 2010.
