Woman arrested after hit-and-run
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Early Sunday morning, Springfield Police said they received a report of a red minivan swerving on Highway 126 eastbound, crossing into the median and oncoming lanes. The minivan eventually crashed into a metal guard rail.
Police said the male passenger went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The female driver took off from the crash scene.
A K-9 officer and dog responded, and found the driver, 24-year-old Tabitha Nicole Bancroft, hiding in a work truck.
Police said Bancroft was intoxicated and had an outstanding Theft II warrant for her arrest. Bancroft was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, then taken to the Lane County Jail and held on the following charges: Felony Hit and Run, DUII, and Reckless Driving.
