Police say this man attacked woman on OSU campus

CORVALLS, Ore. – Police are asking for the public’s help finding a man who they said assaulted a woman on the Oregon State University campus Tuesday night.

On Wednesday, police released a sketch of the attacker.

The 20-year-old woman, who is not an OSU student, fought with the suspect before he ran away. Police said she may have injured his nose when she hit him in the face.

It happened in the area of Southwest 30th Street and Campus Way at around 10:10 p.m.

The suspect approached the woman from behind and hit her on the head. Police said he attempted to take off some of her clothes, but the woman fought back and hit him in the face, potentially injuring his nose.

The suspect ran away. He is described as a white man in his early to mid-20s who is about 6’ tall with a “bulky” build. He has short, dark hair with a thin face and bushy eyebrows. Police said he was wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt with the orange letters “OSU” on the front, dark colored jeans and dark shoes.

The woman had minor injuries, police said.

State police and the OSU Department of Public Safety notified the OSU community of the assault Wednesday morning.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the OSP University Patrol Office at 541-737-3010.
