EUGENE, Ore. -- Police say they are still looking for the driver of a minivan involved in a hit and run in Eugene on Friday night that sent a woman to the hospital with serious injuries.
The victim was crossing the street near 9th and Garfield St. in Eugene at around 7:45 p.m. Friday when police say she was hit by a minivan. The Eugene woman was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver left the scene of the crash, police officials said.
The Eugene Police Major Collision Investigations Unit closed down the intersection for about three hours, collecting evidence.
Police say they found the vehicle involved in the hit and run, a Chrysler Town and Country. Officers are still looking for the minivan's driver.
Anyone who was in the area of the intersection, of Garfield and West 9th Avenue, just prior of the crash, or immediately following the crash, regardless of if you consider yourself a witness or not, is asked to contact Officer Michael Klews, with the Eugene Police Major Collisions Investigations Unit, at 541-682-5576.
