Someone stole brass vases like this one from the cemetery

EUGENE, Ore. - Steve Aitken and his sisters and brother went to West Lawn Memorial Park to set flowers on their mom and dad's tombstone on the morning of Mother's Day.

That's when Aitken noticed the grave's brass vase missing, along with many others.

Aitken said he doesn't know anyone that would steal from a grave.

"You really have to be a low life to steal from the dead," he said. "That's something to me, that's something sacred because that's where somebody you loved is buried."

Jeff Musgrove, who owns West Lawn Memorial Park, said this isn't the first time something like this has happened.

Musgrove said he's filed a police report and is reviewing security camera footage.
