Teen dies after being hit in crosswalk
MIDDLETON, Idaho - Police say a 15-year-old teenager died Saturday morning after being hit by a vehicle in a crosswalk.
Police say the teen, Colton Mackey, who attends Middleton High School, was hit in a crosswalk at Cemetery and Middleton Road. When emergency crews arrived on scene, the teen had no pulse.
Mackey was later transported to St. Alphonsus after paramedics were able to attain a pulse, but later passed away.
Idaho State Police says an 89-year-old Caldwell man was traveling eastbound in his GMC pickup when he struck Mackey. ISP says the driver's visibility may have been affected by the morning sunrise. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
Police are still investigating.
