Autopsy: Teen died from gunshot wounds to head, chest
Cody Myers

EUGENE, Ore. - A missing teen found dead near Philomath died from "gunshot wounds of the head and chest," the medical examiner said.

Investigators will not yet say how many times Cody Myers, 19, of Lafayette, Ore., was shot and the exact locations of the wounds. Law enforcement agencies often withhold details to gauge whether a suspect or witness is telling the truth about what took place.

But Dr. Larry Lewman said Myers' death was a homicide.

The California Highway Patrol arrested David Joseph Pederson, 31, and Holly Ann Grigsby, 24, on Wednesday.

The two are suspects in the murder of Pederson's mother in Everett, Wash., and are now considered suspects in the death of Myers, police said. They are being held in the Yuba County, Calif., jail.

Myers disappeared after leaving home to attend a jazz festival in Newport.

Pedersen's father is still missing and considered endangered.

Investigators in Oregon are still looking for a black 2010 Jeep Patriot displaying Washington license plate ABZ7996 on the rear and a red US Marine plate placard on the front.  The vehicle was known to be driven by the suspects south from Everett, Wash., to Oregon where police believe the Jeep was abandoned.
