Police: Teens drugged parents to use Internet
ROCKLIN, Calif. (AP) - Police say two California teenagers used a prescription sleeping medication to spike the milkshakes of too-strict parents so they could log onto the Internet.
The parents called police and the 15-year-old Rocklin girl and a 16-year-old friend were taken to Juvenile Hall. Rocklin is 20 miles northeast of Sacramento.
The Sacramento Bee reports the girls offered to pick up milkshakes at a fast-food restaurant for the parents of one of the girls on Friday night.
The drug was mixed into the shakes and the couple fell asleep. The suspicious parents picked up a drug test kit the following day.
The girls told investigators they wanted to use the Internet, which was shut down daily at 10 p.m.
It's unclear what the girls did on the Internet.
Facist government? why in the world would Paul Kersey feel it was the government that caused this?
because it is illegal to beat the crap out of your kids - and rightly so.
Violence is not a parenting tool - it is anger and frustration - been there and know sometimes you just want to tear them apart -Â
Some punishments can be just as affective as a slap on the behind - you have to get creative.
Our teens today seem to have no conscience or thoughts of cause and affect.
I look at what these kids are attracted to, the games, the movies, the music....that is what they are dripping themselves in....
Instead of blaming the Government try looking at what feeds our society and the content being transmitted.
The girls probably got the idea from a Movie - Not from watching C-Span OK?
Some teens are more creative than others BUT having the respect for the parent is Prime - the battle is fierce I have done it, my daughter is 31.
Parents need to stop reading and watching the "experts" and get the line of communication open with the teens in conversation and real talks without judgement so that you as a parent can understand where the teens head is going.
Hold the authority and respect with reasons - not demands. Teens are a pain without a doubt some more than others but to blame government is out there - beating your child is not an answer but so many parents have gone that route - laws were put in place - now that is sad.
@colorowdy While I can agree with plenty of what you've said, let's not be dramatic. There is a difference between spanking and beating, and to call it violence is pretty absurd. Also, anger and frustration aren't prerequisites of spanking.
Ever since the fascist government took the power of punishment out of the home, kids have had no discipline.Remember the show "little house on the prairie?"... Remember the kids, so respectfull, "yes pa', no pa'" They knew that "pa" meant buiseness when he said something,
@Paul Kersey. I'm not sure what you're referring to, but this isn't Delaware. ORS 161.205Â
