Check this out! Hot air balloon lands in Boise River
BOISE, Idaho - A local KBOI-TV viewer called the newsroom Thursday morning saying she had pictures of a hot air balloon landing in the Boise River.

Say what?

Local resident Diana said she couldn't believe her eyes. One of the balloons from the 2010 Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic had to make an impromptu stop - in the Boise River of all places. Diana says it appears the balloonist, who has not been identified, was having burner problems and had to land in the water.

The balloonist began floating for a time but eventually was able to fire up the burner again and take off.

Lynn Hightower, Boise Police spokesperson, said no emergency responders went to the scene so no official report was taken.

UPDATE: Since these photos were published, officials with the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic have contacted KBOI-TV's newsroom and told us that the landing was a planned event. At no time was the balloon in distress, and the pilot did not have any burner problems.
