Former homeless man scratches and wins $250K
BOISE - Anthony Castro is the Idaho Lottery's newest winner. The Boise man won the money playing a scratch ticket.

"I came and scratched a ticket off and saw $250,000," Castro said. "I was like... this is not right."

Castro said, in many ways, the money won't change a thing.

"I want to go back to school. I want to work," Castro said.

Castro was shot in the head at the age of nineteen. He also witnessed the September 11 attacks and used to be homeless. Castro said now it is his turn to give back to those who have helped him get back on his feet.

"It doesn't change me. It may change my economic status but it doesn't change me," Castro said. "I'm a good person, and if anybody needs help, I'm going to give it to them."

Castro said he also plans to invest the money, set up a trust account for his daughter and buy a townhouse in Portland.
