Driver escapes fiery car crash only to be hit by semi
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - A driver escaped from a fiery car crash only to be hit by a semi truck as he tried to flag down ehlp.

Police say Patrick Grimm, 37, of Pocatello, Idaho, was heading eastbound on Interstate 84 when he fell asleep behind the wheel and drove through a fence.. The vehicle ended up about 300 yards off the road.

The car burst into flames. Grimm was able to escape.

However, after walking back to the roadway to flag down help, the Grimm got hit by a passing semi.

He was taken to St. Alphonsus Medical Center via helicopter. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The car fire started a grass fire in the area that caused crews to shut down. An estimated 50 to 70 acres burned.
