Aphrodite exhibit poster stirs controversy in Texas
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - An art exhibit featuring a statue of Aphrodite has stirred up some controversy deep in the heart of Texas.
The San Antonio Museum of Art's original ad for the exhibit - which depicts a semi-nude statue of Aphrodite - was rejected by the San Antonio International Airport.
The museum changed the ad to focus on the face of another statue.
The museum did not reveal the names of the other two businesses that rejected the ad featuring Aphrodite, but they did say one was a local magazine.
The Aphrodite exhibit runs through February of next year.
I'm SO glad I don't live in Texas anymore.
I was there for a time myself. I was so happy to see the Oregon border when I came home my eyes welled up with tears. Nothing was green in Texas, except the fresh piles of cow poo in the Northern panhandle.
