PORTLAND, Ore. – President Barack Obama's scheduled stop in Portland to deliver a speech about his economic plans has been canceled, although he will still be coming to the Rose City for two fundraising events.
Last week, the Obama campaign sent out a notice saying the president would deliver remarks during a 'grassroots event' in Portland on Tuesday, July 24.
The notice said he would "lay out a vision to rebuild the economy from the middle out, cut taxes for small businesses and reduce the country’s deficit."
However, on Saturday the Obama campaign said the event was canceled for scheduling reasons.
The president will, however, still be attending a fundraising event Tuesday in Portland in between stops in Nevada, California, Washington and Louisiana next week.
