Government shutdown and beer

The government shutdown could affect the pour for months to come.

It takes the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury 2 to 4 months to approve new recipes and labels.

With the TTB closed as part of the government shutdown, brewers are concerned seasonal ales and new microbreweries will be delayed by the growing backlog at the government agency.
