SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - It's going to be a shootout right?

The Auburn offense ranks in the top ten nationally in rushing offense, total offense and scoring offense. Oh, and the Tigers have the Heisman Trophy winner in quarterback Cam Newton who just happens to lead the nation in pass efficiency.

Oregon's Brandon Bair said of Newton, "He's what we thought he was. Watching film on him, and the way he's played and been a leader for that team. He's a huge asset and we have got to make sure that we're focused and prepare ourselves."

Newton reminds many of Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor who gave the Ducks fits in last year's Rose Bowl.

"They're both 6-6, 245, 250 but when it comes to being an athlete, Cam Newton, he's a better runner, he likes to have the ball more in his hands when he runs." UO Linebacker Spencer Paysinger added, "we have to get a lot of people to the ball."

The Ducks have done that successfully this season and in particular the Oregon defense has been stellar in two key areas, forcing turnovers and in the red zone.

Oregon is second in nationally with 35 takeaways and fifth in the NCAA in red zone defense. But is it enough to slow down Auburn, Duck defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti isn't sure yet.

"Both defenses are going to have to get on the field at some point in the game. Which ever one can do a better job of stopping the other team's offense will probably win the game. Now, how's that done?, I don't know."
