CORVALLIS, Ore.-- Head coach Craig Robinson didn't shy away from the magnitude of this Sunday's Civil War game, calling it the most important game of the season so far for Oregon State.

He added that the team can definitely feel the extra pressure this week coming from Beaver Nation.

"This game gets more coverage. It's more important for the fans,” said Robinson. “I've commented several times that when I got hired at the press conference a little old lady came up to me and said, 'I don't care how many games you lose, just beat the Ducks.'"

Even Jared Cunningham, the Pac-12’s leading scorer with 17.8 points per game, can feel the fans excitement.

"When the fans get involved that much and talk to you every day about winning the game and how important it is to them, you put that in your head a little bit,” said Cunningham. “But you just have to go out there and play hard and do it for yourself at the same time."

The Beavers only Oregon native, Kevin McShane, who grew up in Portland, said he grew up learning about the Civil War.

"I think I grew up knowing that the Beavers were good and the Ducks were bad,” said McShane. “Don't steal, wash your hands, make your bed, the Ducks suck. That was what I heard growing up in my house."
