CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Oregon State wanted to avoid a slow start entering Pac-10 play. Arizona had other ideas.

The Beavers fell to Arizona 37-32 in Corvallis on Saturday night, losing their second in a row and falling to 2-2 on the season, and 0-1 in the conference.

For the WIldcats, quarterback Nick Foles led the way. Foles completed 25 of 34 passes for 254 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. Arizona did not turn the ball over at all, while the Beavers had two, both being interceptions thrown by quarterback Sean Canfield.

Canfield finished 31-47 for 303 with two touchdowns, but also had the two interceptions.

Oregon State running back Jacquizz Rodgers had another solid day both running and catching the football. He finished the day with 16 carries for 85 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught 13 passes for 70 yards. His brother James had eight catches for 119 yards.

Arizona spread the ball around all day, with ten different players each getting a carry. Ten different players also caught at least one pass.

The Wildcats got on the board first, when Foles threw a touchdown pass to reciever Delashaun Dean from two yards out. The Beavers responded with a long drive of their own, finishing with a Canfield touchdown pass to receiver Damola Adeniji to tie the game at seven. Adeniji finished the day with six catches for 70 yards and the one touchdown.

Jacquizz Rodgers added a short touchdown run midway through the second quarter to put the Beavers up 14-7, but this time it was Arizona who responded nicely, as running back Greg Nwoko ran it in from 19 yards out. Oregon State added a Justin Kahut field goal as time expired in the first half, as they took a 17-14 halftime lead.

The third quarter was all Arizona. After an interception thrown by Canfield, the Wildcats scored shortly after from one yard out to take the lead, 21-17. After a third down stop by the Arizona defense, the WIldcats got the ball back and marched down the field once again to score another touchdown, this time a three yard touchdown pass from Foles to Juron Criner. The Arizona lead was at 28-17 entering the fourth and final quarter.

Oregon State appeared to come back alive early in the fourth, as Jacquizz Rodgers ran it in from the two for the touchdown. Oregon State then converted a two-point conversion to cut the Arizona lead to three.

Arizona, however, scored another touchdown with less than nine minutes remaining in the game to extend their lead to 35-25. The Beavers once again matched the WIldcat touchdown, getting within three at 35-32.

The Beavers got the ball back, but Canfield threw his second interception with less than two minutes remaining. Shortly afterwards, the Beavers got the ball back within their own five yard line. Canfield was sacked by Arizona's Earl Mitchell and D'Aundre Reed on the next play for the safety, and the WIldcats led 37-32 with under 30 seconds remaining.

Oregon State got one last chance after they recovered an onside kick at their own 34 yard line. However two straight sacks by the Arizona defense sealed the deal, and the win for the Wildcats.
