TEMPE, Ariz. -- Jacquizz Rodgers ran for two touchdowns, Damola Adeniji and James Rodgers both caught touchdown passes from quarterback Sean Canfield, and Oregon State beat Arizona State 28-17 on Saturday.

Jacquizz Rodgers led the way offensively for the Beavers, rushing for two touchdowns to put his season total touchdown count at nine. He finished with under 100 yards on the ground for the third straight game, but unlike the last two, the Beavers were victorious in this one.

Sun Devils quarterback Danny Sullivan threw for 338 yards, one touchdown, and an interception to pace Arizona State, who fell to 2-2 on the season, 0-1 in the Pac-10. Receiver Chris McGaha, who was held to two catches the week before against Georgia, caught 12 balls for 147 yards and a touchdown.

The Beavers win in Tempe was their first since 1969.

Oregon State struck first, when Jacquizz Rodgers rumbled his way into the endzone from a yard out to give the Beavers a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter. An Arizona State fumble three plays before led to the Beavers touchdown.

The Beavers didn't wait long to score once again. After an Arizona State punt and a Canfield pass to James Rodgers, his brother Jacquizz ran it for the touchdown from 32 yards away to extend the Beavers lead to 14-0 with nine minutes left in the first quarter.

The Sun Devils got a 35 yard field goal from kicker Bobby Wenzig on their next posession, only to sacrifice another Beavers touchdown on Oregon State's next drive. The first play of the second quarter was a 25 yard pass from Canfield to James Rodgers, and the Beavers looked to be in control leading 21-3.

In the third quarter, Arizona State looked to regain momentum as they scored on their first drive. Dimitri Nance scored from one yard out, and the Beavers lead was cut to 21-10.

However, the Beavers defense stood tall the rest of the way. They didn't allow Arizona State to score until the waning moments of the game, but by that time, Oregon State had added another touchdown pass from Canfield to Adeniji.

Oregon State, 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Pac-10, host Stanford next weekend. Arizona State plays at Washington State.
