CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Jacquizz Rodgers continues to be the go-to guy for Oregon State.

Jacquizz had an outstanding day against Stanford on Saturday, rushing for 189 yards and four touchdowns, as well as catching five passes for 82 yards in a 38-28 victory.

The older Rodgers brother, James, finished the day with five catches of his own, for 71 yards and a touchdown. Beavers quarterback Sean Canfield threw for 290 yards, completing 22 of 32 passes.

Stanford, suffering it's fist Pac-10 loss of the season, could not contain Oregon State's multi-dimensional offense, giving up 463 yards of total offense to the Beavers.

Cardinal running back Toby Gerhart, considered by many to be a dark-horse candidate for the Heisman Trophy, finished the game with 96 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Stanford freshman quarterback Andrew Luck completed just 12 of 30 passes, for 226 yards and two touchdowns.

The Beavers got off to a fast start, scoring on their first drive of the game off of a seven yard touchdown run by Jacquizz Rodgers. With the lead at 7-0, the Beavers scored on their next posession as well, with Jacquizz scoring from 12 yards out. Oregon State led 14-0 after the first quarter.

The Beavers continued to punish the Stanford defense in the second quarter, as Rodgers once again ran for a touchdown to put the Oregon State lead at 21-0. Stanford got on the board on their next posession, when Luck connected with receiver Chris Owusu from 21 yards away to cut the lead to 21-7.

The Beavers scored once again on their next drive, but this time it was James Rodgers catching a Canfield pass to put the Beavers up 28-7. Kicker Justin Kahut added a field goal with time running out in the first half to put Oregon State up 31-7 at halftime.

In the third period, Stanford held the Beavers scoreless in trying to claw their way back. Early in the quarter, Luck threw another touchdown pass, this time to Jim Dray from seven yards away, to cut the deficit to 31-14.

But Oregon State wouldn't back down. the first play of the fourth quarter was another touchdown run by Jacquizz Rodgers, his fourth of the game, to put the lead at 38-14. Stanford's Gerhart ran for two touchdown in the final quarter, but by then, it was too late for the Cardinal.

The Beavers, now 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the Pac-10, travel to Los Angeles next weekend to play the Trojans of USC. The Cardinal, also at 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference, travel next week to play Arizona.
