Arizona State 'A' turns green

PHOENIX, Ariz. - As the sun rose on Arizona State University Thursday, Sun Devil fans were greeted by an unfamiliar sight on A-Mountain.
The gold-colored Arizona State "A" that overlooks Sun Devil Stadium donned a new coat of green paint for game day against the University of Oregon.
Authorities in Phoenix have not said who they think is behind the stunt, however Duck fans are suspected to be behind the overnight paint job.
Typically ASU students and fans make a coordinated effort to protect the "A" against such pranks the week prior to the annual game with local-rivals Arizona, but for this game they dropped the ball.
The icon was repainted black by Thursday afternoon, in conjunction with the team's "blackout" home game against the Ducks in Sun Devil Stadium.
