CORVALLIS, Ore. – It was a long time coming, but Oregon State broke ground on its new basketball practice facility on Thursday afternoon.

The new facility is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2013 and will provide the Beavers with a state-of-the-art venue for both the men’s and women’s basketball programs.

The facility is planned as a 34,500-square-foot, four-story structure that will feature two regulation basketball courts on the first and third floors along with locker rooms, satellite training and medical areas, and service and mechanical space. The second and fourth floors will include coach and program staff offices that offer panoramic views of the basketball courts.

It will be located just north of the Sports Performance Center and the main entrance will feature an Oregon State Basketball Hall of Fame highlighting the great teams, coaches and players from the Beavers’ basketball programs.
