Beavers get back to the comforts of Gill

Coming off their six-point loss to No. 10 Kansas, the Beavers (4-2) host Grambling State (0-5) this Saturday at 1:00. The Beavs are wrapping up finals week before being home for five of their final seven non-conference games.

Ahmad Starks, who leads the Beavers in scoring at 16.3 points per game, said, "Everyone needs to be in the gym pretty much every day. There is no school work so no excuses. You have to be doing something,"

Head Coach Craig Robinson added, "This is a chance to get better, a chance to improve. That is why this period is almost as important as the preseason because you have got some wins under your belt and you know what you have to work on and we want to sure up those things."

As for playing with Grambling State Tigers?, "I think this first game against Grambling State is going to be tough one because we are coming right out exams and they haven't won a game so it's a perfect recipe for losing," Robinson said.

Angus Brandt is scheduled to have his season-ending knee surgery on Friday but says he expects to get approved for his medical red-shirt to come back next year.
