EUGENE, Ore. - University of Oregon wide receiver Devon Blackmon plans to transfer from the football program, according to head coach Chip Kelly.

The Fontana, Calif., redshirt freshman had stepped onto the field in two of the first three games this season but had yet to accumulate any statistics, the athletic department said.

The 6-1, 186-pound Summit High School graduate caught 31 passes for 379 yards and five touchdowns in addition to carrying the football 35 times for 370 yards and six more scores as a high school senior.

Kelly said that Blackmon is expected to complete the fall academic term before transferring but has been excused from his remaining football obligations.

"He has been a solid contributor to this football program for the last two seasons and I wish him continued success whatever he decides to pursue," Kelly said.

Blackmon will have three seasons of collegiate eligibility remaining.
