EUGENE, Ore. – With practices for the 2013 season starting on Friday, the Oregon Ducks baseball team has earned another high preseason ranking. The Ducks are 10th in the Perfect Game Preseason Top 25 Poll released today.

The top 10 ranking is the second of the preseason for the Ducks, who were ranked No. 6 in the Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll in December.  Oregon won a school-record 46 games in 2012 before ending its season in the Super Regional in Eugene.

UO returns seven position player starters this season behind a pitching staff that features four returning starters and an All-American reliever.  Jimmie Sherfy earned first-team All- America pre-season recognition by Louisville Slugger, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game.

The Ducks open their season Feb. 15 against Hawaii in Honolulu. Oregon opens at PK Park on Friday, Feb. 22, after wrapping up the four-game series at Hawaii.
