Duck Football: Tyner backs off commitment
It was roughly a month ago that Oregon recruit Thomas Tyner shattered state records with 643 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. Now it appears he's re-thinking his verbal commitment to the Ducks.
After a couple of online recruiting websites reported that the the Aloha senior running back had de-commited from Oregon, he posted this to his Twitter page Tuesday night:
"How do I know where I'm truly happy if I haven't put myself out there yet? Still love my Ducks. Gotta do what i gotta do."
This doesn't mean that Tyner won't end up signing with Oregon, just that he's going to weigh his options.
Making fast decisions isn't what a high schooler should do. I would love to see his talent on the Ducks team, but I hope he gets to do what HE wants to do, not what the big money machine says to do.
