EUGENE, OR - Dan Fritz will no longer serve as the head coach of the Willamette High School football team, but will continue to teach at the school KVAL Sports learned on Thursday.

Fritz was the head coach for the last seven seasons at Willamette.  He was asked to resign last week after the Wolverines went 2-7, defeating Marshfield and South Eugene last season.

Fritz compiled a 31-37 record after taking over for Skip Raish in 2006.

Athletic Director Barry Bokn says the school search committee hopes to have a new head coach on board sometime in January.
