NEW YORK, N.Y. – English Gardner was impressive in winning the 60 meters in 7.19 seconds Saturday at the 106th Millrose Games at the Armory.

Gardner edged out a pair of Olympic medalists in Saturday’s race. Jeneba Tarmoh placed second in 7.22 and Lauryn Williams was third in 7.24.

The sophomore from Voorhees, N.J., also ran the second fastest time in the NCAA this season, trailing only a 7.16 run earlier this year by Louisiana State’s Kimberlyn Duncan.

Also Saturday, Jordan Hasay finished 10th against a field of professionals in the women’s Wanamaker Mile in 4:36.21.

The Millrose Games will be broadcast by ESPN on a tape-delayed basis Sunday from 5-8 p.m. Pacific.
