Irish strike back at Grant, beat Generals 81-78
PORTLAND, OR - In a battle for supremacy in Special District 1 play, Sheldon defeated Grant 81-78 on Tuesday, avenging a loss to the Generals back in December in Eugene.
The Irish held a 44-42 lead over Grant at halftime. Sheldon then outscored the Generals in the third quarter 21-12 to take a 65-54 advantage into the fourth quarter.
Grant closed the gap in the final period, but couldn't complete the come back.
Sheldon is now 11-5 overall and 3-1 in Special District 1 play. Grant is 13-3, 4-1.
Elsewhere in 6A, South Eugene beat Thurston by two 64-62 and South Medford out lasted Roseburg in three overtimes, 73-66.
