The Ducks' depth at linebacker has afforded the coaching staff to be able to make some changes on defense in 2010.
Eddie Pleasant moved from strong-side linebacker, where he started in 2009, to safety in the spring.
That opened up the SAM, or strong-side linebacker, spot for either Josh Kaddu or Boseko Lokombo.
Kaddu backed up Pleasant last season.
Former South Eugene Axeman Lokombo, (played his junior season in 2007 before moving to British Columbia), is a redshirt freshman.
While the two are battling to see who starts at SAM, both know they will see plenty of playing time come the season opener on September 4th against New Mexico.
