Duck Football: Defense dominates scrimmage again

Duck Football: Defense dominates scrimmage again

Head coach Chip Kelly said his offense was sloppy in the Ducks' first scrimmage a week ago.  This time around Kelly couldn't stop giving praise to his defense.

Oregon held its second scrimmage of the spring on Wednesday and just like the first, the defense won the day.  The offense turned the ball over numerous times (unoffcially nine times) with interceptions and fumbles (no official stats were kept).  One fumble was returned 87-yards by defensive back Troy Hill.

In one five play stretch, the defense intercepted a pass and then three plays later recovered back-to-back fumbles.  Junior safety John Boyett even blocked a field goal attempt.

The Ducks return to practice on Friday.  The annual spring game is Saturday, April 30th.
