The home team had won ten straight in the series, but that streak came to an end. on December 1st, 2007. It was Dennis Dixon's senior year but his knee injury did not allow him to play. Yvenson Bernard also did not play, but Matt Sieverson filled in with a 38-yard touchdown on the second play of the game.

Oregon State led 21-14 in the 2nd quarter when Lyle Moevao was stripped, Jairus Byrd scooped up the fumble and rumbled 33-yards to tie the game.

It came down to the end. Redshirt Freshman Justin Roper failed to spike the ball and the clock kept on ticking. A rushed Matt Evensen missed a 35-yard field goal for the win. For the second time in Civil War history, a game went to overtime.

IN double OT, Freshman James Rodgers flew around on the fly sweep for the 25-yard go-ahead score. The Ducks had a chance to answer but Jonathan Stewart was stopped on 4th and 1. The Beavers won 38-31. Oregon State's first win in Eugene since 1993. The Beavs went on to beat Maryland in the Emerald Bowl, the Ducks crushed South Florida in the Sun Bowl.
