EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon linebacker Rahim Cassell faces a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, Eugene Police said.

Officers pulled over Cassell, 20, early Sunday morning after seeing his car speeding near 13th and Hilyard, police said.

"We are aware of the situation and continue to gather information," Coach Mark Helfrich said in a statement. "We have a high standard of accepted behavior for our student-athletes that will not be compromised. Once we have a complete determination of the facts, we will take appropriate steps."

Cassell, from Lakewood, Calif., was part of the same recruiting class that brough Marcus Mariota, Ifo Ekpre-Olomu and Colt Lyerla to Oregon.
