When the OSAA realigned into a six-class system four years ago, it left many people unhappy. Rivalries were lost while travel got longer and more expensive. Now a better formula is in place for the 2010 school year. Click here for the full list.  The old Midwestern League is back with a new look. Sheldon and South Eugene join their old rivals, Willamette, North Eugene, Marshfield, Springfield, Churchill, Thurston. Marist joins the league as the Spartans wanted to move up from 4A. The Colts will now be a 6A school.

The new hybrid leagues could save the district $100,000 dollars in travel costs. The next step is designing a postseason model. That job is in the hands of the State Championship Committee. This alignment would last until 2014 before it is looked at again.
