By KVAL SportsLOWELL, Ore. -- The second half of High School GameDay started off highlighting the match-up between red-hot Lowell and perennial powerhouse Mohawk. In the first quarter, the opening kickoff was returned for a score by Cord Wilkins, and the Indians were up early. Later in the period, Wilkins scored on a quarterback sneak, and Mohawk dominated Lowell, 66-8. Springfield took on Willamette on friday night, as the Millers attempted to end a five-game losing streak. In the first quarter, when Willamette was leading 7-0, the Wolverines' Joseph Shay picked off a Levi Green pass and returned it 45 yards for the touchdown. Willamette added on later to their lead, and ended up winning 47-33. In Corvallis, Crescent Valley hosted West Albany. In the third quarter, Raiders running back Colby Eason ran for a touchdown from 70 yards away to tie the game at 14 a piece. Later in the same quarter, the Bulldogs responded with an Anthony LaCoste 20-yard touchdown run to put the lead at 21-14. In the fourth, LaCoste ran for another touchdown, that one from 65 yards out. West Albany ended up holding on, 34-28. In Medford on Friday, Roseburg beat North Medford 33-17. The Indians will be the second seed from the Southwest conference in the upcoming playoffs. Elsewhere, South Eugene avoided a third straight winless season in conference play with a 37-28 win over Grants Pass. Undefeated Douglas traveled to South Umpqua to face the Lancers on Friday night. In the first quarter the Lancers threw two interceptions, and Douglas jumped out to a 20-0 lead even before halftime. The Trojans wouldn't let South Umpqua on the baord, as they win with ease, 33-0.
