PLEASANT HILL, Ore.-- The second part of High School GameDay started off with Pleasant Hill taking on Newport.

Pleasant Hill was playing in their first playoff game since 2002, and they took advantage of the opportunity. After the Billies blocked a Newport punt, Pleasant HIll scored a little bit later to take the early lead. Later, the Billies' Derek Smith found Cody WIlliams for the 17-yard touchdown on a screen pass, and Pleasant Hill went on to win, 26-13.

It was home sweet home for Sweet Home on Friday, as they hosted La Grande. In the third quarter, with the Huskies leading 14-7, Sweet Home's Tyler Holly found Shawn Potter for a 40-yard touchdown, and the Huskies led 20-7. And in the fourth, Tim McDowell added a 33-yard touchdown for Sweet Home, and the Huskies beat La Grande 27-7.

Siuslaw visted No. 8 Scappoose on Friday night, and it was all Indians in this one. In the first quarter, Nick Paxton of Scappoose kept it himself for a 25-yard touchdown score, and the Indians were up 7-0. In the second, Paxton found Jason Sawyer for a touchdown, and Scappoose beat Siuslaw 42-6.

In 2A action, North Douglas hosted Bonanza in what turned out to be a battle of the defenses. Finally, in the fourth and final quarter, the Antlers' Slavador Madera ran 24 yards for a touchdown, and that would end up to be the only points scored in the game. Bonanza ended North Douglas' season with a 7-0 victory.

On the Volleyball court of Lane Community College, Marist swept North Bend in the 4A State semifinals to set up an all Sky-Em title game Saturday against Sisters who beat Cottage Grove in four games. Santiam Christian will face Cascade Christian in the 3A title game.
