Sheldon caps perfect season with showdown shootout
All season long fans have been waiting for the showdown between top ranked Sheldon and #2 Jesuit in the OSAA Class 6A state championship game. The Irish finished off another perfect season, 50-43, for their second state title in three years.
It was the highest scoring state title game in the highest classification since McNary and Beaverton in 1997 (51-48).
Senior quarterback Jordan Johnson threw for two touchdowns, ran for one and caught another. Cameron Abeene rushed for three scores and connected on the 24-yard halfback pass to Johnson in the 3rd quarter.
It is rumored that Sheldon head coach Marty Johnson may retire from his duties. Johnson told KVAL Sports, that decision won't come for another week.
