Sheldon boys hand South Eugene first conference loss
The Sheldon boys basketball team stormed into South Eugene's Purple Pit and handed the Axemen their first conference defeat 56-49.
South led at the half before Sheldon came roaring back in the third quarter.
The Irish held the Axemen without a field goal in the third quarter, and Sheldon hit a three pointer at the buzzer to end the third quarter and take a four point advantage into the fourth quarter.
The Irish led by as many as 11 in the final period before settling in for the 56-49 victory.
