SPRINGFIELD, OR - Mercedes Russell scored 24 points to lead the defending 5A champion Millers to a convincing 74-21 victory over Parkrose Friday night.
With the win, Springfield advances to state tournament at Matthew Knight Arena. The Millers will play Wilsonville in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 7th at 1:30pm.
Midwestern League rival Willamette will join Springfield at Matt Knight. The Wolverines dismantled Sherwood 66-32.
Willlamette will play Milwaukie on Wednesday at 8:15pm.
Last year's state runner-up will also make a return trip to Eugene. West Albany buried Pendleton 62-48.
The Bulldogs advance to play Mid-Willamette rival Lebanon at 6:30pm. The Warriors are making their first ever appearance in the state tournament after beating Marist 48-43.
Corvallis fell on the road at Bend in overtime, 41-37. The Spartans season comes to an end.
In 6A, Sheldon lost at Central Catholic 64-39.
In 4A, Junction City got bounced by Banks 41-27 while Philomath advanced to the state tournament with a 50-18 victory over Brookings-Harbor. Tierra Stephenson led the Warriors with 19 points.
