Eugene, Ore-- OTC Elite's Ashton Eaton won his first post-collegiate Decathlon Friday at Hayward Field. He scored 8,729 points, the fifth best US finish of all-time.

In the first event of Day 2, Eaton finished the 110-meter hurdles in a US record, 13.52 seconds.

In the Pole Vaulst, Eaton cleared 16ft 6 3/4in. That tied the best mark of the day.

In the final event, Eaton finished the 1500-meters in 4:24.10. He finished with 8,729-points, the fifth best total for a US athlete.

In the Men's 800 meter semi-finals, OTC Elite teammates Tyler Mulder and Nick Symmonds battled it out. Mulder took second and Symmonds took fourth. Both qualified for the finals. UC Irvine's Charles Jock won the heat in 1:45.80. Oregon sophomore, Elijah Greer, failed to make the finals.

In the Women's 800 meter semi-finals, OTC Elite's Geena Gall came in second in Heat 1. She qualified for the finals, but Oregon freshman, Laura Roesler was eighth and did not advance.

In the Men's 400 meter semi-finals, Duck freshman, Mike Berry qualified for the finals by finishing third in his heat in 45.39.

In the Men's 100 meter final, there was no Tyson Gay, but a tight race between Walter Dix and Justin Gatlin and in a photo finish, Dix edged Gatlin in 9.94 seconds.

In the Women's 100 meter final, it's a three-peat for Carmelita Jetter. She beats Marshevette Myers in 10.74.

In the Women's 5,000 meter final, Molly Huddle won the US title in 15:10.01. Lauren Fleshman finished eighth.

In the Men's 5,000 meter final, there was a great finish. Three men battled it out, Bernard Lagat, Chris Solinski and Galen Rupp. That was the order of the finish. Lagat out-kicking the other two men to win it in 13:23.06.
