Duck Football: Young wide receivers are 'ready for the challenge'

The Ducks football team continued voluntary summer workouts on Friday.  With just one senior at wide receiver, the position will be a focus during fall camp.

Josh Huff is one of six sophomores at the position.  After the graduation of Jeff Maehl and D.J. Davis, Josh said "It's an opportunity to step up."

In 2010, Huff caught 19 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns.

As for the left knee injury Huff sustained during spring ball, he says he is back to "100%", but spoke about how scary the ordeal was when he first went down.

"I just thought it was all bad, getting an MRI and all of that. Trainers told me I would be fine. I just have to keep rehabbing and staying strong with everything I do with it. I run in the pool every day and with the weight training that we do, it's getting better day by day."

Below you can watch full interviews with QB Darron Thomas, WR Josh Huff and DE Terrell Turner.

They covered a range of topics including the opening game with LSU in Dallas and the season ahead.  They also reflected on the BCS title game with Auburn.

Turner stated, "It's behind us now.  We're looking to compete this year."

Friday, Thomas was named to the Davey O'Brien watch list as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. Teammate LaMichael James was again placed on the Doak Walker list for the top running back. James won the award last season.
