Corvallis grad to try for spot on Olympic swim team
Logan Storie, 19, will be representing the Corvallis Aquatic Team at the USA Swimming Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb., from June 28 through July 6. Logan is entered in the 200 m. Freestyle, 400 m. Freestyle and 1500 m. Freestyle. A 2007 graduate of Corvallis High School, Logan recently completed his Freshman year competing for the University of Florida Gators. At UF he was named SEC (Southeastern Conference) Freshman Swimmer of the Week and competed in the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Federal Way, Wash, in March 2008. While at CHS, Logan earned five individual state titles, and presently holds four individual 5A state records (50, 100, 200 & 500 Freestyle) and every boys individual swimming school record at CHS. Some other highlights of Logan's swimming career include Oregon Male Swimmer of the year in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and he was a member of the USA Swimming National Junior Team which competed in Australia in 2006. He also was awarded the Senior Sectional High Point Male Swimmer award in summer 2005, summer 2006, and spring 2007.
