EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Oregon football players have established a memorial fund to help the family of teammate Todd Doxey, who drowned while swimming in the McKenzie River.

The fund will go toward the family's funeral and medical expenses.

The redshirt freshman died Sunday while on an inner-tube trip on the Cascade Range river.

NCAA rules require the university to oversee the memorial fund. Funds collected that go over the permissible expense incurred by the family will be donated to charity.

Funeral services will be held Monday at The Rock Church in San Diego, where the Doxey family lives.
