WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (AP) -- The Pacific-10 Conference has named Danny Mwanga of the Oregon State men's soccer team the conference freshman of the year.

Mwanga, of Portland, became the third OSU player to be named freshman of the year, joining Joe Zaher (2002) and Robby Findley (2003).

Mwanga posted four goals, including one game-tying goal during his first collegiate match and one game-winning goal against San Diego State in the 11 games he played in.

Mwanga also received All-Pac-10 second team honors along with senior defender Daniel Leach, while senior midfielder Ryan Callahan, senior forward Robby Christner and junior goalkeeper Michael Miller received honorable mention.
