EUGENE, Ore. -- After more than two weeks deliberating a tough decision, it appears as though University of Oregon athletic director Pat Kilkenny has decided to spare men's basketball coach Ernie Kent.

Sources have confirmed to KVAL News that Kent will have at least one more year to turn things around and that he has offered to make some sort of change to his staff.

Kent's Ducks suffered through the worst regular season in 17 years, finishing with an 8-and-23 record.

An official announcement from the athletic department is expected Wednesday.
