Andrew Wheating closed out his stellar Oregon career with a fifth place finish in the Bowerman Mile at the 36th Prefontaine Classic.

Wheating's time of 3:51.74 was his personal best by seven-seconds and shattered the previous school record held by Joaquim Cruz, 3:52.00.

Also Saturday, Oregon Track Club Elite's Nick Symmonds (three-time 800 meter champion) had a third place finish with a personal best in the 1,000 meters.

Former Oregon star, Rachel Yurkovich finished fourth in the women's javelin.

The surprise of the day came early. Oregon's A.J. Acosta carved out a lifetime best (3:53.76) with a second place finish in the International Mile.
