Dog days of summer, Ems finish first half in last place
The Eugene Emeralds closed out the first half of the Northwest League season with a 10-3 loss to Vancouver on Monday.
The Ems (15-23) finished the first half last place in the West Division. Everett won division, Spokane took the title in the East.
The second half begins Wednesday for the Ems home against the Indians.
Monday was another promotion at PK Park, Dog Days of Summer, paid $2 to bring their pooches to the ballgame.
All of the dog fee proceeds went to Greenhill Humane Society.
